I’ve always been a voracious reader.
But as I entered my 30s, I developed a sort of love for thriller/horror. I have a nice list of cozy Witch books you can read here. I read according to how I feel.
And because fall is approaching, I’m just feeling drawn to cozy books.
I thought I’d make a list of my favorite ones.
There’s something about fall that makes romance feel softer, sweeter—like everything is wrapped in warm hues and crisp breezes. Maybe it’s the golden light, the smell of baked apples, or the way your favorite sweater suddenly feels like a hug. Whatever it is, nothing pairs better with this season’s magic than a truly cozy fall romance novel.
Last year, I spent one chilly October curled up with a homemade Pumpkin Spiced Latte and The Pumpkin Spice Café, and I swear that book tasted like cinnamon and comfort.
Since then, I’ve been on a mission to find similarly heartwarming reads, books with beautiful covers, great reviews, and autumnal settings that feel like an endless pumpkin patch inside the pages.
So here’s your fall reading list, fall 2025 edition: 12 swoony, comforting romances filled with knit sweaters, café lights, and that unmistakable autumn glow.
Let’s find you a story that feels like home.

1. Fall I Want by Lyra Parish
Fall I Want is everything a cozy autumn romance should be: Warm, nostalgic, and overflowing with those small, magical moments that make this season so special.
It’s the kind of story where every chapter feels like a golden-hour walk through crunchy leaves or a lazy afternoon wrapped up in a plaid blanket.
The characters are immediately relatable, each with just enough quirks and flaws to make them feel real.
Their connection grows in the sweetest ways, through banter, stolen glances, and those little moments that sneak up on you and leave you smiling.
The romance is soft but compelling, with the perfect sprinkle of tension that makes you want to keep turning the pages.
What I loved most was how beautifully the author captured the feeling of fall.
If you’re searching for a romance that embodies the magic of autumn, Fall I Want deserves a spot on your TBR pile this season.
2. Every Rule Worth Breaking — Amanda Chaperon
This book is on Amazon Kindle Unlimited, by the way.
Amanda Chaperon has such an incredible gift for storytelling.
The plot felt fresh and engaging, and the characters were layered, lovable, and so easy to connect with.
I especially appreciated the way she portrayed anxiety because it was realistic, thoughtful, and beautifully done.
The relationship struggles had a natural rhythm, nothing rushed, and it all came together in the most satisfying way. Truly, chef’s kiss.
Aiden is fantastic, but honestly?
Brent Jean completely stole my heart. I could happily read about him in a hundred different stories.
The group of friends was another highlight.
Asher brings this quirky, offbeat humor, while Jack balances everything out with his loyalty and quiet wisdom. Spending time with them felt like pulling up a chair at the best lunch table ever.
Chaperon is absolutely an auto-buy author for me now. She has such a warm, genuine presence as a writer, and it shines through on every page.
Do yourself a favor: Pick up this book and anything else she writes. You won’t regret it.
3. The Cinnamon Bun Book Store — Laurie Gilmore
This book gave me major August by Taylor Swift vibes, and honestly, I adored it.
I went in expecting more of a fall setting like the first installment, but most of the story carried that small-town, East Coast summer atmosphere instead, the kind of cozy, late-August beach read you can sink into.
I actually enjoyed this one a little more than The Pumpkin Spice Café.
The characters felt richer and more fleshed out, and their relationship development had more weight (and a bit more spice, too).
The only part I didn’t love was the miscommunication toward the end, but there were so many charming, heart-swoony moments that it was easy to forgive.
4. Falling Like Leaves
Falling Like Leaves is like a hug!
Ellis’s journey from Manhattan to Bramble Falls – I love it!
At the heart of the story are two leads whose paths cross in the most ordinary but meaningful way.
What makes it shine is the emotional depth — it isn’t just about falling in love with someone new, but also about letting go of the past and learning to trust again.
The town, the festival, the romance, it was all so charming!
Every character felt like someone you’d want to be friends with, and I honestly didn’t want to leave this world.
What I loved most was the balance between tenderness and tension. It’s cozy without being too predictable, romantic without losing its grounding in real, human emotions.
5. You, Again — Kate Goldbeck
What an incredible debut!
This book had me laughing out loud more times than I can count.
I was instantly drawn in by the cover because the male character has such an Adam Driver vibe, which felt like the perfect little detail.
I know I’m gushing, but when a story really grabs you, it’s impossible not to share how it makes you feel.
This one had me laughing, tearing up, and just feeling every emotion all at once.
What a lovely book!
6. Morbidly Yours – Ivy Fairbanks
Morbidly Yours completely surprised me in the best way.
What could have easily been a dark or heavy story ended up being quirky, heartwarming, and laugh-out-loud funny.
Ivy Fairbanks took a premise I’ve never seen in romance before – A mortician as the heroine, and made it feel fresh, charming, and oddly comforting.
I fell in love with how offbeat and real the characters felt.
The heroine’s dry humor and vulnerability gave her so much depth, and the love interest was the perfect balance, steady, thoughtful, and unexpectedly sweet.
The side characters were just as engaging, each adding little bursts of humor and warmth that made the story feel alive.
What I loved most was the tone.
It had just the right amount of spookiness for autumn without losing that cozy, rom-com heart. I found myself laughing one moment and melting over tender little scenes the next.
It’s the kind of book that proves romance doesn’t always have to be picture-perfect, it can be weird, funny, and deeply human too.
By the time I turned the last page, I knew I’d happily pick up anything Ivy Fairbanks writes next. This one is going straight onto my cozy fall favorites shelf.
7. If It Makes You Happy – Julie Olivia
If It Makes You Happy transports you back to fall of 1997 in the charming Vermont town of Copper Run, where Michelle, freshly divorced and grieving, moves across the country to run her family’s beloved bed-and-breakfast while her sister finishes school.
She doesn’t have it all figured out but the moment she meets Cliff, the local baker with a heart as warm as his cinnamon scones, everything changes.
Michelle feels real from page one, she’s cracking jokes to feel less broken, but in the most relatable way.
Cliff’s not just a love interest; he’s a presence—steady, grounded, and unexpectedly charming with his flannel shirts, flour-dusted hands, and sincere kindness.
Watching them navigate friendship, family dynamics, and the delicate burden of Michelle’s pending move to Seattle makes their connection feel both honest and deeply comforting.
The small-town setting adds a layer of cozy nostalgia.
Quiet evenings, pastry-filled mornings, community moments around falling leaves—this romance wraps you in that warm glow only autumn and ember-lit bakeries can deliver.
Pro tips: grab a snickerdoodle, light your favorite fall candle, and settle in—you’ll find yourself rooting for their slowburn happily-ever-after long after the last page.
8. Accidentally Amy – Lynn Painter
Adorably smitten characters, lighthearted misunderstandings, and a town that looks like it was designed by autumn itself.
This book kicks off with a mix-up at a coffee shop, the heroine grabs the wrong drink, meets a handsome stranger, and suddenly her morning routine is anything but ordinary. This scene reminded me of the movie Anyone But You.
What starts as a small, silly accident quickly turns into a string of hilarious, heart-fluttering encounters that feel like fate stepping in with a wink.
Lynn Painter’s writing has that breezy charm that makes the whole story feel like watching your favorite cozy movie.
The banter between the leads is quick and witty, the chemistry is undeniable, and the autumn-tinged setting gives everything a warm, seasonal glow. I especially loved how the romance balanced lighthearted comedy with real moments of vulnerability, it wasn’t just funny, it was heartfelt too.
If you love meet-cutes that spiral into something magical, quirky characters you can’t help but root for, and a story that feels like sipping a pumpkin latte on a crisp morning, Accidentally Amy deserves a spot on your fall TBR.
9. A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping – Sangu Mandanna
It follows Sila, a witch who returns to her family’s inn in rural Wales after years of staying away.
The inn isn’t just any ordinary inn, it’s enchanted, full of quirks and secrets, and tied deeply to Sila’s family history.
Coming back means confronting her grief, reconnecting with old memories, and figuring out where she belongs in a world that has changed while she was gone.
Sila is such a beautifully drawn character, sharp yet tender, full of quiet strength but also vulnerable in ways that make her incredibly relatable.
What I loved most was the way her magic isn’t flashy; it’s soft, rooted in care, in everyday rituals and in the relationships she rebuilds.
Alongside her is a cast of warm and eccentric side characters, including a love interest who is gentle, patient, and exactly the kind of person you want to cheer for in a cozy romance.
The setting is half the magic here.
The inn itself feels like a character — every creaky floorboard, every enchanted corner filled with charm and mystery.
Pair that with the autumnal Welsh countryside, and you’ve got a backdrop that makes the whole story glow with cozy vibes.
This isn’t just a story about love; it’s about family, healing, and learning how to create a home for yourself after loss.
If you loved The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, this has the same warmth but with its own unique, inn-filled charm.
Check it out if it piqued your interest.
10. Can’t Help Falling: A Best Friend’s Brother RomCom – Courtney Walsh
Can’t Help Falling by Courtney Walsh is one of those rom-coms that makes you want to curl up with a blanket, a cup of tea, and just devour it in one sitting.
It follows Emmy, who secretly runs a bookish podcast where she gives romance advice to listeners — think modern-day “Delilah,” but with all the cozy, hopelessly romantic energy of someone who prefers novels and pajamas over parties. When her house catches fire, she’s rescued by none other than Owen — her best friend’s brother, a firefighter, and the guy she used to secretly crush on years ago.
They haven’t seen each other in eight years, but the spark between them reignites instantly in the most heart-fluttery way.
What makes Emmy such a relatable heroine is her pure book-nerd heart. She adores Pride and Prejudice (yes, there’s a Mr. Darcy hand-flex mention — and yes, it will make you squeal), and her love of romance movies and even the Outlander references had me laughing out loud. She’s the definition of a cozy romantic, and seeing her navigate her feelings for Owen — someone so different from her — was both funny and touching.
Owen, on the other hand, is a total protector. A firefighter with a quiet strength, he’s practical, grounded, and dealing with the complexities of dyslexia. Watching him open up to Emmy, and seeing how she saw him in a way no one else ever had, was deeply moving. Their opposites-attract chemistry sparkles — she’s dreamy and idealistic, he’s steady and realistic — and yet together, they just fit.
The story is also filled with delightful little touches: secret letters and messages that bring Emmy and Owen closer, sweet moments that feel like a hug, and a small-town backdrop that makes everything glow with coziness.
If you love bookish heroines, protective heroes, second-chance crushes, and romances sprinkled with charming literary references, Can’t Help Falling is the perfect autumn rom-com to add to your TBR. It’s funny, heartfelt, and full of the kind of moments you’ll want to reread again and again.
11. Secrets At Maple Syrup Farm by Rebecca Raisin
This book is on Kindle Unlimited too!
Secrets at Maple Syrup Farm is one of those romances that feels like stepping into a Hallmark movie, sweet, heartfelt, and filled with small-town charm.
The story follows Lucy, a young woman with an artist’s heart who dreams of painting for a living but has been weighed down by the responsibilities of caring for her sick mother.
When she stumbles upon Maple Syrup Farm, with its golden fields and warm community, she finds not only the peace she’s been craving but also the chance to finally follow her passion.
At the farm, Lucy meets Clay, a gruff but kind man who is dedicated to keeping his family’s traditions alive.
On the surface, Clay seems guarded, maybe even a little too serious, but as the story unfolds, you see how deeply he cares, about his land, his people, and eventually, about Lucy.
Their relationship starts off cautious, filled with unspoken tension, but slowly grows into something warm and tender.
What I loved most about this book is how the romance is interwoven with themes of self-discovery and healing.
Lucy’s journey to embrace her art and her independence makes her incredibly relatable, and watching her find both love and herself at Maple Syrup Farm is deeply satisfying.
The farm setting itself is enchanting — think rustic barns, homemade syrup, cozy kitchens, and crisp air scented with sugar and woodsmoke.
Rebecca Raisin has such a knack for creating atmosphere. Every chapter feels drenched in seasonal charm, making you want to curl up with pancakes drizzled in syrup while reading. It’s a story about new beginnings, second chances, and the kind of love that feels like home.
If you’re looking for a gentle, uplifting romance that blends sweetness with depth, Secrets at Maple Syrup Farm deserves a place on your cozy fall reading list.
Check out this lovely book here.
12. Love’s a Witch: A Cozy Fantasy Romance – Tricia O’Malley
Love’s a Witch is a magical Scottish romance that blends whimsical witchcraft with the kind of cozy, small-community feel that makes fall fantasy romances so addictive.
The story follows Sloane MacGregor who has always known she was different — gifted with powers that make her an outsider — and a brooding Scottish hero whose protective streak and quiet vulnerability make him impossible not to root for.
Their paths cross in the Scottish Highlands, where ancient magic hums in the air and the landscape itself feels enchanted.
The romance builds slowly, with plenty of sparks, banter, and tender confessions — a perfect balance of opposites-attract tension and heart-melting sweetness.
What I loved most was how the book combined magical elements with real emotional depth.
If you’re looking for a fall romance with witches, Scottish charm, and a love story that feels both whimsical and heartfelt, Love’s a Witch is a perfect pick for cozy nights in.
Light a candle, pour a spiced tea, and let yourself be swept away by this enchanting tale.
